My name is Julia Kent. I am a scientific software engineer at NSF NCAR, combining my backgrounds in optical physics, atmospheric and oceanic sciences, and software development for open source solutions supporting the geoscientific community.

I am also a classically trained flute player, avid fantasy reader, triathlete, backpacker, and knitter - with my own brand Darning Needle Knits.
